German Shepherd Rescue of Central New York is involved in many activities, from outreach and fundraising events to obedience and other educational classes.  Visit this page often for updates!

2010 Events  

•  Hold the Date!!  We will be at BOTH the Tractor Supply Company (TSC) at 6641 Manlius Center Road, East Syracuse, and the Auburn store at 360 Grant Ave on Saturday, September 11, from 11-2!!  Stop out and see us and some of our dogs!!  Bring your clean cans and bottles with you as we will be doing a bottle drive to benefit Rescue that day!!!  Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Students will be selling hotdogs and other goodies at the Auburn Store!
  
  
• Alison Miller, a big fan of GSRCNY, will be hosting an event in New York City on Saturday, September 25, to benefit GSRCNY.  All of this is in memory of her beloved GSD "Hunter".  While this might be a hike for us Central New Yorkers, she has set a lofty goal for this event....she wants to raise $25,000!!!  Check out her website and "Get Lei'ed for a Good Cause.....GSRCNY"!   Make a commitment now to help her reach her goals!!

• If you are going to be in New York City between September 1 and 14, be sure to check out the fim "My Dog Tulip"!! 

• Watch the Cayuga Highland Search and Rescue website for information on their upcoming Fall Workshops.  Many great programs, including one by well-known trainer Brenda Aloff on Thursday, September 30, and Friday, October 1. If you are interested in dog training, don't miss this event!  The fee for the two days is only $100 for both days or $60 for one day.  For more information, contact Chris Buff.

•  GSRCNY was at the Syracuse Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, July 31, for the book signing of  Allie Larkin's new book about a German Shepherd.  Read more about the book "Stay" on Allie's Website.  We highly recommend Allie's book!

• April 2010 Adoption Event at the Auburn Central Tractor with the help of the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES Students! 

• November 2009 Meet and Greet in Onondaga Hill

• The Vitamin Shoppe on Erie Boulevard held a fundraiser for GSRCNY in April 2009.   We enjoyed a visit by the Onondaga County Sheriff K-9 Unit!!
